On the 17th December Sheffield FCs Disability football team made their debut in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Flourish League against Brunsmeer Awareness FC.
The fixture was played under the bright lights at Sheffield FCs stadium and watched by family’s, friends and supporters which didn’t leave disappointed as a very competitive and entertaining game unfolded.
Both teams turned up with the right attitude to play football. Sheffield FC prevailed the stronger out of the two in the first half as it concluded 4-1 to the home team going into the second half.
The team talk must have helped Brunsmeer as they came out and gave a valiant display and a quick fire double helped establish their foothold in the game again. Two noticeable performances, number 10 of Sheffield FC who scored a hat trick and showed a desire to work for the rest of the team. Number 1 for Brusmeer, when times got hard for the keeper he held strong when his team needed him most and made some exceptional saves.
The final score finished 5-3 to Sheffield Fc.
The event was a success both teams showcased their talent and the game was fiercely fought while upholding respect for one another. The Sheffield FC staff helped make the event and couldn’t have been more helpful, this match was a highlight in both teams history and relish the opportunity to perform here again.
